Also, dogs absolutely bark, knock things over, pee on the floor, etc. I remember being at a zoo and watching a fake service dog go absolutely bonkers every time it saw an animal - jumping, barking, lunging, etc. The zoo animals were freaked out and it was unpleasant for guests.

Yay for you. One of my family members is highly allergic to all dogs, even the “hypoallergenic” ones, and is absolutely miserable whenever we have to be in close quarters with a dog. Not that fun when he’s sneezing and sniffling in a grocery store because someone just HAD to bring their dog, and getting the stink-eye from everyone for appearing to be sick in public.

YOUR dog de-stresses YOU. It creates stress for other people.

Do whatever you want with your dog at home and on your own property. But bringing your pet with you everywhere makes you a complete ahole, not to mention likely emotionally stunted.

It’s also because they are too cheap to pay for dog walkers or dog care.

Other people’s kids are scientifically proven to stress people or just your own?

I’m sure a dog can destress it’s owner; I had rabies shots after being chased and bit by a loose dog, so definitely doesn’t destress me.

I was in HomeGoods and a little dog was in a cart going wild with a dog toy. The squeaky noise could be heard through most of the store. I’m a dog person and yet I found it highly annoying. But the owner looked pleased. Ugh.

OP, I have a little dog and agree with you that dogs shouldn't be in most public spaces. I saw a terrible, bloody dog fight in an outdoor cafe in Berlin several years ago. Animals are unpredictable and even a seemingly calm dog can be unexpectedly triggered.
