NP. Why would something like the nut policy vary across elementary schools? Is the policy decided by the individual school principals or is it something that is different because the parent community provides input? It seems like the kind of thing that should be uniform.

It’s often class by class. Because it depends on the allergies in that class that year.

I have a Kindergartener with a peanut allergy in LCPS. The school itself serves peanut/tree nut free lunches, but there is no restriction on what children can bring in from home.
I’m not sure if this is county-wide, or just at our elementary school. My DD is knowledgeable about her allergy, and I’ve been very proactive in teaching her that she never accepts food from other children, so hopefully I am mitigating the risk as much as possible.

At our APS ES, allowed to have nuts in lunch, but all of my kids are in no-nut classes, so snacks (consumed in the classroom) have to be nut-free.

Not universally nut-free. Check with teacher on severity of allergies in that class.

My kids sometimes go nut-free so they can sit with friends at a nut-free section of lunch.
