Depending on the age of the kid, most musicals are good. My boys love Fiddler on the Roof and Les Miserable, and can't get enough of Hamilton and Greatest Showman. They are not fans of Cats (in any iteration) or Phantom of the Opera.

I’ll also add War Games and Princess Diaries although those skew a little older (I’d say 8-15 for princess diaries and 10+ for war games).
