We discuss these things but are looking for input, not permission. I will usually mention if I’m going to change my hair but in passing, not asking for buy-in, same with tattoos and will sometimes ask what DH thinks of the idea. But generally each does what they will as long as it’s not a safety concern or affects our kids a certain way.

I’m more concerned about being involved/having a vote in major purchases. I’d be much more pissed if DH went and bought a car without discussion vs if he showed up with a tattoo.

I on the hand am not allowed input on the length or style of her hair, how she tints/highlights etc including coming back almost blonde. But, I am allowed an opinion on her change of hairstyle etc so long as it is positive.

If you don't maintain a short scruff of beard, your wife is seriously missing out. Just saying.

I’m the opposite! I want his face like a baby’s bottom.

What do people think about fillers? They're temporary, but at the same time it is a potential medical risk. Okay to just come home with smooth under eyes or marionette lines, or necessary to inform a spouse first?

Do you demand testing every time you or your partner gets a needle stick at the doctor’s or the hospital? Because those can transmit HIV and hepatitis, too.

What kind of change? Are you getting highlights? No. Cutting your long hair that he loves? Maybe. Getting plastic surgery or becoming a cross-dresser? Yes.

She must be a really great person overall. I don't understand how some people put up with spouses who are that controlling.
