Salisbury, Towson, McDaniel, JMU, Lynchburg, Roanoke, Susquehana, Allegheny.

Many more options than you think.

Yes.

South Carolina - Average 3.32/1299 - many accepted at or just below 3.0
Providence - Not much of a sample size for Providence but does show kids being accepted with low 3's GPA

South Carolina and Providence for our school is more like 3.5.

I'd look at LACs ranked 50-100 that offer business degrees. They don't restrict who gets to be a major.

plenty of schools where they will have a great time and be surrounded by people who are normal and enjoy having fun and realize that going to a top tier school isn't going to make or break you. that comes from within.

I know this school doesn't get much press in DC but I have a super positive impression of it.


St Joes would be a reach - average GPA is a 3.5


Naviance data from our HS shows multiple acceptances with sub 3.0 GPAs and 1200 SAT.

Your child has lots of choices. Don't listen to these people who say go to Montana or Kansas. We have so many choices right here within 5 hours drive.


Going across the country for college is an amazing experience.

West Virginia, James Madison, Penn State (know this for fact as DD was 3.3 and got in), ECU, college of Charleston, UMass (again personal experience).

Not in Ohio State, Delaware, Florida State.

Most second or third tier level public universities, and most LACs offer business as a major. Plenty of non elite LACs and smaller state schools.

The original statement is still ridiculous. I’m not aware of the requirements for these schools, but you can add Texas and Michigan to the “nope” list.


I'm not sure what your problem is but you can add Wyoming, Idaho, Mississippi, Kentucky, Louisiana and Arkansas to this list.
