OP here. I can't let that go. He's a grown-ass adult. I've explained that I want the toys and food messes picked up. I explained this in my emails before I initially met him. I explained this on the first day and two more times after that. There's no other job I can think of where it's okay to ignore job duties. I don't understand how a college graduate can't get to work on time and do the basic responsibilities of the job. My husband wants to let it all slide, but I'm afraid I have to disagree.
It's not working out, you need to move on. No need to expend more emotional energy dwelling on this. It isn't a fit, and you need to find someone else. You may need to pay more, if you are having trouble finding someone.

OP here. Yes, yes, yes. Too busy doesn't excuse ignoring basic job duties. The young babysitters these days are just plain l a z y.

My kid is a stealth pooper. The diaper may have been clean 99% of the time except for those last 2 minutes which was right when you arrived back home.
Also, a toy tornado in your living room is a sign they had a good time.
Did you go over expectations? Were they too busy having fun to stop and have to neatly put away and organize everything?
Toys can wait. A lot of the times, toys aren't put away until the very end of tbe day.

It's not hard, unless you're not guaranteeing hours, providing enough hours and/or paying a high enough hourly rate.

OP here. He clearly can't handle the job. My house is clean and organized when he arrives. I have babysat him. He can't remember where the house keys are stored. He thinks nothing about sending my child to interrupt my work. Today he asked I I wanted him to change the baby's diaper before he left. He comes late and expects to leave on time. My husband has been sending him home early just because but I am the one who has to take care of the kids when he's not here. I need to find another babysitter, but it's hard!

One of the finest nurses I’ve known was male and straight. One messy, inattentive male sitter does not represent the whole cohort. Shame on YOU.
