We've done both the Inn at Perry Cabin and Salamander and both DH and I prefer Salamander, especially if you want a spa experience. Inn at Perry Cabin is lovely but we got a little bored after two nights. Truthfully, you can't go wrong either way -- both had very comfortable rooms and nice "common areas" for posting up with a martini and a good book. I *think* all the rooms at Salamander have a balcony which is really nice if you're concerned with COVID social distancing.

Op here. I'm vaccinated but would still prefer to practice social distance for now, so I wouldn't want to go to a big city. Leaning towards the cabin route. I think I would prefer a "resort" where we can still get dinner and potentially have some spa treatments.

Maybe Mohonk Mtn House if it’s not too far and you catch one of their sales?
