The "Messi got Spanish citizenship so that PROVES a Latin commonality" ??? Beyond dumb. Show up to a country with that kind of talent and stay there long enough, you'll get a passport too.
There is particular style of football common to countries that speak Romance languages. If you watch Italy play Spain and think that they're the same, what can I say? You're dumb.
Messi has Spanish ancestry. The Spanish are Latin people. Messi is the #1 soccer player in the world. I am by no means a fan of his though.

Pope Francis, an Argentine when traveling in France, Spain, Portugal or Italy it is no different than him traveling in Argentina. It is another day at the office for him because those are his fellow Latin people.

I think OP is trying to say that South American and even Central American countries and Mexico are pretty good at soccer. I don't think there's anything special about 'their stye', but a huge number of people practicing the game summer and winter. I don't see them skiing and skating as often as I'd like to see.
If any, they should be even better because it's not like they are doing all other sport when compared to Asian countries, US, Canada, Europe, or Australian.
