I share my birthday with my (non-twin) sibling. It's really not a big deal.

My kids are 2 yrs and 1 day apart.

It's really easy up until the oldest is 6 yrs old. They don't really know any different, they have the same neighborhood friends coming to the party, they have the same interest (Frozen), grandparents come by only 1x, etc.

They're older now with different friends and different interests. Still NBD. Parties are from 11-1 and then 3-5 or whatever on a Saturday Moonbounce rental the whole day. Exhausting for me bc it's paety-central at our house, but totally fun and worth it and now I'm a pro.

As a nuclear family, each kid does have her own cake on her respective bday and we celebrate them individually on their day.

OP- my husband is one of six and I think has some residual stuff from his childhoods around birthdays. I think it was the only day any of them got any individual attention.

He shares his birthday with our older kid, it's our younger kid I'm thinking about. He's a sweetheart though and I bet he would be excited to share.

I’m surprised too! My dad, sister, and great aunt all have the same birthday. Some years it’s on Father’s Day, too. It’s so special! The only bad part was that there aren’t any kids of the youngest generation with the same birthday.

Mine have the same birthday 2 years apart. No big deal. Family appreciates only having to remember one date. When they were little they had group birthdays and once they got older one had a party the weekend before and one had a party the weekend after. I like that they will always remember their sibling’s birthday.

Just want to say that my kids birthdays are on the same day. They like it now (the older one is sweet to share). We TTC for over a year and when the month we knew older dd was conceived we had sex only once because we didn’t want shared birthdays (the other months were timed sex and every other day sex). Sort of funny, but I guess life had other plans.

Pp here with boys bdays 1 day apart. They never received joint gifts ever from us or others.

My boys’ birthdays are only one day apart. We had one joint party when they were very young. We always have a party for each kid. Sometimes we may do a week apart but often have one party on a Saturday and one on a Sunday. Before covid, we used to do a school friend party each and a joint family friend party so 3 parties. We love to celebrate.

I have twins and they share the same day (obvi). It's fine - you are overthinking this.

OP here, thanks for the replies! This makes me feel much better. I think I'm just sensitive because DH and DD share a birthday and DH hates it (he's a very normal rational person and a great dad this is his one weird thing and I just roll my eyes). I was hesitant to have another double birthday but maybe it will be fun. And I'm sure I won't get pregnant but if I do I will post an update!
