This. Right now everyone is running around pretending that lunch automatically means everyone anywhere in a school is a "close contact" of any kid that tests positive. That doesn't seem correct from what CDC directs about 'close contacts' and quarantine.
We may quickly find out what the coronavirus’s definition of “close contact” is.

Looks like quarantines based on unmasked lunches. According to the osse call TODAY
This isn’t loading for me. What’s it say?
Close contact definition:
- clarified that this is only for K-12 students (not pre-K, adults or staff)
- Close contact if < 3 ft distance
- Close contact if share lunch room (b/c not all wearing masks)
But again, the quarantine due to unmasking during lunch only applies if kids are eating within 6 feet of each other. So if they have room inside to space out 6 feet or can stagger lunch in order to have 6 feet, or can eat outside, no quarantine.
What school has enough room in a lunch room does an entire grade to sit 6 feet apart?
Our HRCS will have staggered lunch in classrooms -- half the class eats, half goes outside for recess.
