Twilight for mine, and that was fine during despite the weirdness of seeing my oral surgeon bracing himself to pry those suckers out. When they noticed me opening my eyes, they cranked up the dose.

I did barf quite a bit afterwards.

I had mine done a few months ago with full sedation. No way would I have done it with just local. It was bad enough already. My doctor prescribed an anti-nausea med that i took the night before as a preventative measure, and the sedation was fine.

No one does local anymore. I am still traumatized from mine. Get a good oral surgeon. It will be fine.

Local anesthesia? That’s nuts. I went under for all four.

It depends on the specialization's of the dentist and the decade. In the mid 80s it was my regular dentist who took out my impacted wisdoms, using local anesthetic and sewing my gums up himself.

I had this done in my early 20s. It was really weird to see the surgeon brace themselves on my chair to tug out one of my tougher teeth. I think I wished I had been sedated.

I had just local anesthetic for my wisdom teeth removal. I normally HATE medical procedures but it was totally fine. No pain at all, a little pressure, probably the worst thing is hearing the teeth crack. I listened to podcasts to take my mind off it but the whole procedure was pretty quick.

Recovery wasn't bad, either. The worst thing was getting food stuck up in the holes, days' worth of food chunks would come out and it tastes SO BAD.
