Our HHI is around 400-600 depending on the year. That affords a lot since we have a peloton tread and bike. We also do orange theory together.

I get how that additional at home working out option has gotten us over the hump. But it’s no excuse. I started all this with walking and a $140 fitbit. That’s it. Walking is free, we have sidewalks. It’s not rocket surgery. My family didn’t have flushing toilets when my dad was in grade school.

HHI isn’t the problem. Motivation is the problem.

You can just own it. You’re fit. Be proud.

This is only true to a point IMO. I'm the 75k poster and I have enough flexible income to afford a gym membership and fitness classes, abundant fresh food, etc. When I made 30k and worked two low-paying jobs, my motivation was also confronted with the reality of virtually no free time or money to afford the things that could maximize my health. It wasn't impossible, but it was definitely much, MUCH harder.

Single person here with income of $95K. Very fit. Personal choice in life has to prioritize fitness and health over the rat race. I’m happy.

$250k and very fat/out of shape. DH is thin but doesn’t work out. No correlation in this household.

Have some contributing health issues that cause severe bloating that once resolved will probably shave about 2 sizes off, but until my kid is older I don't expect to have time to get fit again. I walk for about 30-60 minutes a few times a week (hills if i only have 30 min's) but that's more for mental health than weight loss.

Identical situation here (down the health issue/bloating) but age 51.

P.S. it's not clear to me that high HHI should correlate with fitness. Our HHI is high because we work a lot. Between that and little kids, it's hard to find much time to work out. Of course we could do a better job prioritizing it, but it's not easy.
