If your goal is to give more people a minimum income, including people who work at low paying jobs, this will reach more people. If that’s not your goal, then make unemployment more beneficial than working low paying jobs. I guess it’s depends on what your goal is, and if you want to help people who work low paying jobs make ends meet without having to do something drastic like stay home and take advantage of the meager options available, because it pays better than minimum wage after childcare and work/commute related expenses.
My goal is to help the people that most need it - the ones without income or jobs in a pandemic. Not the family’s making up to $150K a year with just two kids in a already LCOL area.
There are plenty of needy families crossing the border right now.

This is BS.
Yes, a family consisting of two adults who earn up to $150,000 combined and have 10 kids will get a total of $9,000 a month for the kids and $2,400 per month for the parents. So, in total, they’ll get $11,400 per month in stimulus checks. However, families who earn $150,001 or more per year, will not get any stimulus checks.
That’s a lot of free money, but still less than last year, when Democrats proposed to give $2,000 per month to each adult.
That’s not a ‘stimulus’ anything. It’s a monthly payment. Ridiculous.

This is just more chest thumping from the squad.
It’s not going anywhere.
Focus on vaccinating everyone and fixing healthcare.
I agree but I think the Squad are signaling high level bills in order to get low-level victories. They won’t get this but they’ll get something. Just like with the extended 60-day evictions moratorium.

It was introduced by the Squad who can’t get any laws passed - not to worry it’s going nowhere.
They need to focus on actionable things like Medicare For All or expanded ACA.
The healthcare is really what’s important. We desperately need that. And no one should have to be tied to their parents until 26.
Agreed. Let’s keep the focus on that.
We need to improve the framework that will lift all people and then let the free market do its thing.

So we’re going to pump more cash into the economy while stifling productivity. Where do they think that will lead?
Pretty soon we will have $50 loaves of bread and will be no better off than we were before. And we’ll be worse off because some people who might otherwise have been increasing their skill sets were no longer motivated to do so, so an essential brain drain. Heading towards Idiocracy.
The unvaccinated is what is stifling the economy. Let's not lose focus here.
