Completely unacceptable even if sex was not an issue. Does the sister generally lack common sense?

Zoom dates are awkward. Sister should plan a weekend trip to visit them a few weeks or months after the wedding. That’s a better time.

How is the bride feeling about being asked to do this?

My SIL and BIL did drinks and happy hour after their wedding. I was surprised to see them there, because after my wedding I was tired and just wanted to sleep.
If I remember correctly, friends and siblings set up happy hour time and location and told the newly weds “hey we are all getting drinks at X time and location”. I think the bride and groom and just we will see how we are feeling after. They back to the hotel changed and met us all later.

When my DH and I got married we did dinner with family and friends the next evening. And that was so much fun, we got pizza and drinks and had the best time mingling with family and I know it sounds so silly but it was so fun to introduce my DH as my husband.

God, no, they’ll be dead on their feet.

I think an after party is different than one-on-one "get to know you" drinks after the reception. No one wants to hang out with ILs they barely know after their wedding reception.

If only there was technology that would allow them to keep in touch and get to know each other better prior to and after the wedding day.

Personally I would be irritated if somebody even asked. I know some people think it’s okay to ask for anything and it is on the one being asked to say no and not be bothered about it, but a lot of people don’t like being put in the position of having to say no to something.

Hinting, however, is a different story.

Dh and I aren't easily irritated people who look to be offended so it's probably why it wasn't a big deal for us.

What the heck??! Let the couple celebrate getting married and going to the next level of intimacy. The sister is crazy!
