I don’t plan on wearing a mask again unless I’m mandated. I’m vaccinated. Covid is mostly spreading among unvaccinated. The vaccinated that do get a break through case are mild. I’m in my 30s with no risk factors
That mild, breakthrough case is contagious and could kill an unvaccinated child. Or an adult who, for medical reasons cannot receive a vaccine. I’m fully vaccinated. I’m masking again in public to protect young children. I do not wear a mask when I work out.
Can you explain the rationale of working out maskless at a gym, but then wearing a mask at say, Safeway or Target?
About 300 kids have died from Covid. More have died from the flu. You are not saving anyone by wearing a mask while vaccinated.

DP, and one who is going maskless most of the time, but this is a mental question. If you buckle your seatbelt 80% of the time and leave it off 20% of the time does that mean its pointless? Certainly not if you get into a car accident during the 80%.
Exposing yourself in one setting in a considered way and throwing all caution out the window will give you different exposure levels to COVID and different levels of risk in passing it on.
I could easily see someone seeing the gym is an acceptable risk but upping mask compliance across the board BECAUSE the non-masking at the gym heightens their risk of catching it so they do what they can to ensure they don't spread it if they get it and are asymptomatic or something.
Anonymous wrote:Fact: 99 percent of Covid cases are from the unvaccinated. I’m vaccinated and been working out massless for over a year now at the gym. Not wearing a mask unless required.

I do not mask at the gym. The gym is an optional thing. If you're worried about Covid, not vaccinated, high risk, or whatever, you don't have to go. You can make a home gym or find a gym that does require masks (I know some small ones that do). I wear a mask other places because they aren't optional. The grocery store? Maybe you can't afford the added costs of delivery or don't have someone who can shop for you. I don't mask outside ans never have (though I don't live in a highly populated area)

Generally at the gym, I am appropriately distanced so it's not an issue. I am fully vaccinated. I will do whatever is necessary to protect young children and others who cannot receive the vaccine. Because, I'm not a selfish asshole.
