My, fancy that.

You would have hated my grandmother's house. A beautiful modern sprawling mid-century ranch she and my grandfather built in the 1950s with floor to ceiling windows, cathedral ceilings, modernist clean lines, all light and airy, and filled with expensive antiques mixed up with modern pieces.

Real Tiffany lamps are gorgeous and wonderful craftsmanship. Certainly not for everyone but to pretend that they have no place in today's world is just silliness.

We have a couple of Tiffany style floor lamps in a light, airy open floor plan. The rest of the furniture in that room is more mid-century modern, but it still works together - at least I think so. The glass shade provide a bit of interest and depth

That’s not what I meant, I think they’re great. I just meant that “dated” is a silly concept for antiques. They’re supposed to be “dated.”

Yes, they're dated, but dated enough to be a neat vintage piece in a mix of styles and periods. I love them personally, at least the nice real Tiffany ones or mission style stained glass (I'm on the lookout in vintage stores near me but am so far just seeing more of a Pizza Hut vibe so far...no thanks).

I think with a lot of wood they look good. They also put off warm light which is nice for entertaining.

No opinion on the look, but my parents had some growing up and I found they did not give off great light. So I'd be more concerned about function.

Do you ever look at something that’s Art Deco and think “ugh, dated?” I don’t.

I think some styles are timeless and Tiffany lamps are one of them.
