Everyplate has no additional packaging except a cardboard box top with all the ingredients loose. It still has the outer fedex or ups with the ice pack for the meat/fish. https://www.everyplate.com/plans?c=ES-68YT2CXT2

OP:The best tasting meal kit is chefnbox if you are okay with Asian/Indian that has organic veggies/sauce is from a New Jersey Indian restaurant called Indiyas. Taste before adding soy/gradual salt. Fast delivery, nothing missing.

Greenchef got bought by Hellofresh, but has organic cruciferous veggies and sauces by the former executive chef at Atkins. Buy a sack of grains to supplement unless you are low-carb. https://greenchef.com/invite/NCqyL5

Just cook your own food. You can be as complicated or as simple as you want. People that need to continuously use these services are pathetic.

Vegetable and butcher really looks more designed for a single person who isn’t too picky about what they eat than it is for a family. Might try it for a cleanse or something though. I’d love to find an option with less packaging.

Is there a lot of unrecyclable packaging with these meal services? I’m looking for something green(ish) with plenty of meatless dishes.

To me, that is the Hello Fresh formula.

I like Green Chef because it uses a lot of organics. I also love Vegetable & Butcher with the meat option, especially because everything comes ready to warm and eat. Another plus for Vegetable & Butcher is that they are local and drop off meals using a bag and ice packs. It kills me to keep throwing out all the packaging and ice packs that the larger services send food in.

Same. Especially the produce quality and ingredients being left out.

We received boxes back-to-back that had rotten produce. That's uncalled for, IMO. Like, literally opened the boxes after they arrived and the tomatoes in the first box were moldy.

I cancelled and we've been cooking. I'm trying to figure out our next meal service alternative because I'm sick of the same things over and over.

We’ve tried:
Plated (no longer exists)
Home Chef
Blue Apron
Hello Fresh
EveryPlate
Gobble
SunBasket

The best have been Home Chef, Sun Basket, and Gobble.

Our family has been using meal kits since 2014. We have used: Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, Sun Basket, and Marley Spoon. Our favorite food by far is Marley Spoon. Unfortunately, they also have THE WORST delivery service. Boxes arrive days late with rotten food that you have to unpack (smells awful), and dispose of. I know it’s the fault of the third party delivery service and not necessarily Marley Spoon but after multiple attempts to get our fulfillment company switched I finally gave up. Which sucks because their portions are large and we love the food.so now I’m back to trying to figure out which company to go back to.

We really like the vegan meals from Vegetable+Butcher, and we are omnivores. I think it’s inspiring to see what talented vegan chefs can do. If I didn’t have to cook for my meat loving family, I think I’d be happy to eat those meals about 2/3 of the time. They have a meat option for the protein as well.

I did Hello Fresh for a while and we use a LOT of the recipes still. The only thing I didn't like about them is all the sour cream based sauces. I found Blue Apron recipes to be so boring.

We really like home chef. We’ve done it for a year and ingredients have been left out twice in that time, but they’ve credited us the cost of the meal each time so it doesn’t bother me much (I take inventory of it all the day it comes so I can buy something if it’s missing before I need to cook it)
