I want an answer to that.
What was withheld? If information was shared how was framed? Was it downplayed?
We need answers.

It needs to not be repeated. At the same time, you don't want a Trump friendly military covering the US Capitol to foster a coup, either.

Capitol security is provided by the sergeants-at-arms , who are the chief law enforcement officers for the House and Senate, in coordination with the Capitol Police, a federal law enforcement agency.
The House sergeant-at-arms reports to the speaker of the House, or Pelosi at the time of the attack. The Senate sergeant-at-arms reports to the Senate majority leader; in the days leading up to and including Jan. 6, that was Kentucky Republican Mitch McConnell.
The chain of command for Capitol security does include Pelosi, but it does not fall solely to her.

So, the question that needs to be asked..... "Did the Sergeant at Arms consult with Pelosi about security and she declined to have additional security there because of optics?"
Recall...... she was NOT happy to see National Guard at Lafayette Square during the summer protests and riots or anywhere else the guard was deployed. She referred to it as the "increased militarization" of police.
You can ask the question, but ultimately, the President controls the National Guard. He put people in place that stonewalled and ignored the pleas to send them in a timely manner.
And....why doesn't McConnell, who oversaw the Senate Seargent at Arms, have the same questions directed to him?[/quote]
PP here.
He should. Both should. But, they won't.
Stanger and McConnell didn’t want to look bad by having a strong police showing.
