Also, I completely sympathize with their situation - but it's combination of mixed emotions of resentment and empty.

As a single person in a 600 square foot condo, I hated lockdowns, and I never really followed them in the sense that you stay literally indoors in your home. Yeah, screw that. Fine with me if you like staying home, but don’t you dare impose that on my vaccinated, mask-complient arse. No I will not stay home.
Big talker. You will stay home if you are ordered to by law. That’s what was missing from the last lockdown. No teeth in the order. Next time we’ll go the Canadian route. Get caught outside, go to jail, stay in jail for the duration of the lockdown.

Look at the billionaires— my theory holds up.

Sure. It was great for ys too. We still saw my parents but noone else and big houses and yard and healthy kida and stable jobs. Not so for tbe majority of the population. Many friends in apartments or jobs that couldnt be done from home. Kids in ES that had to have a parent with them during virtual school.

Personally, we did great in the lockdown. We were in luxury and comfort, lots of job security in a high paying field, kids are teens and self motivated, large home, huge yard, great neighbors, lots of places to hike.
But, I am ready to go back with every one vaxxing and masking. Of course, another lockdown will happen but that is only because with idiots around we cannot have good things in this country.

Single mom of a toddler in a 650 sq foot apartment and also a frontline healthcare worker. So I can’t relate. But I can imagine if I had a nice house with a yard in a safe part of the city and a work from home job , maybe I would have enjoyed the extra time with my DC?
