A lot of women look good with short hair. Except to the handful of women who hold onto the idea that long hair equates with style. Not all long hair looks good. Not all short hair looks good. The real trick op is finding a short cut that works for you. I have had good and bad short, medium, and long cuts. You have to find a stylist that can work with your face and hair versus just giving you a generic cut.

This. My stylist cuts to my face and head shape, AND takes feedback during the process - actively encourages me to speak up til it’s right.

Also having your brows cleaned up can really help with a short or precision cut

I got an ultra short pixie postpartum and it was the best! Very full face, slightly heart shaped, definitely not thin. I had gotten sick of baby pulling my hair when nursing and it was august. I was nervous too and was surprised at how many compliments came my way. Dramatic changes can be nice. It’s hair, it will grow back.

Due to my ethnicity, anyone more than the size of a soy sauce plate is considered overweight lol.
I am 4 foot 11 and have always been built like a tank I have never in my life been "skinny" or "slim"
I have also always had short hair especially after I grew it out in grade 9 to past my shoulders later on right before grade 12 prom I cut it all off into a punk-style pixie..
I am now 42 turning 43 i have a round face and a big head i had hair down to my mid back and just got it all chopped off into an anime-style pixie cut. Yes, it shows my round face but I do not care because long hair or short hair I was still chubby so why not be cooler in the summer with shorter hair ( well at least that is how I see it. Not all curvier women look butch with short hair that's not true. A hairstyle is like clothing it needs to suit your personality )

So by all means if you want to cut your hair so it's a bit easier to manage then by all means go for it

Two separate things here:

1. As someone who cut her hair into a super cute short bob about 6 months post party, I would advise you not to do it. IME, short cuts are harder to maintain and do you really want to have to deal with doing your hair every day with three little kids, or would you prefer to just smooth it back into a quick ponytail? The second time around, I left it long and it was so much easier!

2. I am overweight (quite overweight) and have that cute bob again and it looks great! When you're ready for a short cut, talk to your stylist about what will work with the shape of your face. It doesn't have anything to do with the shape of your body.

Halle Berry was one woman who could rock short hair.

But I like her longer locks better.
Maybe because she is older?

OP, you can wear your hair any hair-length your heart desires.
There really are no hard or fast rules on this.

Demi Moore I’d like in her late fifties & she looks great with her long hair.

No!! Don’t do it and definitely don’t get layers. I went for a haircut 2 months PP and still had lots of baby weight. The stylist layered it and cut it shoulder length- with the amount of shedding I ended up with very little hair a week later. Plus I was always self conscious about my “double chin”. Short hair has to be styled more than just below shoulder hair. I say get some cute hair ties, wear a high bun with some lip tint and concealer and be kind to yourself. But don’t chop off your hair you will feel worse - fatter and balding. Just get a trim, scalp massage and paint your nails- I’m serious.
