My daughter is talented also, age 9, but I really believe at this age they should follow their own interests. I have provided plenty of resources and raw materials for her, and allowed her to follow what she loves. I've shown her some of my favorite paintings and art, I've bought her a variety of art books, and how-to illustration/painting books, and she also watches a lot of youtube tutorials, and she has sketchbooks, canvases, paints, colored pencils, illustration pens, markers, clay, etc. She also loves creating art from found objects and nature. But I also realize every child is different, and my daughter is very self-driven and motivated and independent and would scoff at the idea of someone "instructing" her how to make art. Some children thrive with a bit more structure and guidance.

Expose her to as much art as possible. Go to the Smithsonians , museums, art galleries, etc.
