He likely is living off of some girlfriend. The girlfriend is willing to lay for him but not the kid. You have to be very great in bed for a person to support you, but you have to be spectacular for them to support you and your kid.

I think this is a set up for a very traumatic month. The kid likely won't starve but the kid likely won't be treated well.

Keep him here if dad agrees. Skype him. Invite dad up for weekends. Delete your cookie history and make sure you are in private browser when you are on dcum. Otherwise it may show up on your other devices. Kid doesn’t need to know any of this.

The child's mother can't make that excuse. My ex makes so many excuses. "I can't pay child support because I'm in between jobs." What if I was in between jobs? I'd still have to pay for our child.

But I'd say that if he can't properly care for the child, then custody arrangement needs to be revisited, and not in his favor.

If two adults working three jobs (and yes, EVERYWHERE is hiring) can't figure out how to feed one child, they're either stupid or wasting money (or both). Oh and let me guess--this situation is not going to stop this bozo from having more kids.

I’d pick up my kid up. There is zero reason the kid has to be party to this mess.

Why is he having trouble finding work? There are signs everywhere that they are hiring.
I was helping a friend search for a job and came across ads on Indeed where Big Lots says they are even willing to hire felons.
Is he in the DC area?

This. I’d take my kid back if possible. My kid isn’t starving or living in squalor because of a deadbeat dad.

If the dad is living out of the school district it's hard to see how they'd get to the school to GET the free lunch for the kid. They could save the gas money and buy food.

In the summer you can go to ANY public school that is handing out free lunch to students not enrolled in summer school. They don’t ask for proof of attendance or residency. My kids go to their or and parents and get free lunch with the neighborhood kids. They all walk over together. I called that district and asked and they said any child is eligible under 18.
