On what authority can you be sure DCPS will NOT require all teachers to be vaccinated? The EEOC has ruled that employers VERY WELL CAN REQUIRE employees to be vaccinated. I expect DCPS to do just that, in the very near future. I have not read any logical reason why DCPS should not do this.
I work in central office. Ferebee has made clear that the vaccine WILL NOT BE REQUIRED FOR ANY TEACHER/PRINCIPAL/AIDE/CUSTODIAN etc. They will also not require it of any student. THIS 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR.
You can write in caps all you want. So can I. It doesn’t matter what the Eeoc said. It won’t be required this school year. Next year….maybe. But not this one.

So, assuming that 1) vaccines won't be mandatory for teachers/staff, and 2) we won't know what percentage of teachers/staff are vaccinated, what's everyone's thoughts?
My main thoughts are that:
1) that my trust in teachers' purported need to make schools covid-safe is eroded
2) I'm going to have to believe in the absence of data that 40% of teachers/staff won't be vaccinated.
3) I'll be angry, undoubtedly. I've supported teachers doing DL until they were vaccinated, but if they are choosing to NOT be vaccinated in great numbers (and 40% to me is a great number in this situation), then I feel like I've been duped.
