We had several good experiences at Dr. Boyd’s but only saw our dog in one indoor play area the whole week. He seemed happy and played a lot but I didn’t like that he didn’t go outside all week. I think quite the opposite of what was said about aggression—they are clear dog is evaluated prior to being able to play in the play area. Some of the negative reviews I read seemed to be people who felt it was unfair their dogs weren’t allowed to play because they were more aggressive. I had my puppy there last year and no issues with that.

That makes all of the difference in the world when I'm trying to relax.
The place is INCREDIBLE, they have 2 huge indoor play parks, and 2 lovely outside oasis play areas that have beds, pools, toys, etc.

I've watched my big oaf play, flirt, run & jump around all day like a total lunatic.
He spent all morning outside in the outdoor Oasis 2 cam, and right now, I'm watching him (and his girlfriend) lounge about happily in Yard 1.

He looks so happy, and exhausted from a super fun day today... which makes my vacation all the better!

You can also read about their boarding here.
It's too beautiful & plush, each doggo gets their own bedroom and the facility is incredible.
I wish I could stay there, lol.

A real plus though, is having 24/7 drop off & pick up... all day, all night, no matter what time or day of the week (and no more silly late fees if your flight gets canceled or you're late).

You can see your pup under livestream on their site.

Yelp reviews are really mixed and judging by the pics and descriptions with positive reviews it looks like the dogs boarded are primarily pitbulls, pit mixes, or other bully breeds. I'd steer well clear of that place if I didn't want my Golden puppy torn to shreds, but if you have more personal insight into why it is great I'd like to hear it, honestly. It doesn't read as well monitored to me at all.

Well, my dogs been going there for a year and he's only placed in groups with dogs that are the same size and temperament.

The very first thing they do with a new dog is a temperament test to see how they interact with other dogs while using a barrier.
You can also tell them what kind of dogs you DON'T want yours placed with, and they'll honor that.

It's a very professionally run place, I can't imagine why there would be any issues.

I went and red the reviews and surprisingly, not a single review was from "primarily pitbulls, pit mixes, or other bully breeds" attacking smaller dogs.

Of the 10% reviews that were negative, some were owners complaining because the vet seemed detached, and others were questionable.

You may not like the place for whatever reason (a place you've never boarded your dog at or gone to yourself) but since you've never used them, you should keep your false narrative of pit bull attacks to yourself.

It will be fine but the pup might be off for a day or two if they are really attached to you. You feel guilty but what can you do. Just show extra love when they get home. If they get their own kennel ask if you can take a pillow or blanket they use from home to leave in cage and toy. Some will do walks for extra charge. That is worth the extra charge. Good luck!
