Get pens, pencils, highlighters, markers, erasers, glue sticks, scissors, and pouches to keep the stuff in. I'd buy 3-ring binders in various sizes, dividers. And the 3 subject notebooks (most of my kid's teachers wanted these for their classes), and a few folders. If you overbuy you can always return. But once their gone, their gone and you're relegated to online.
Have you actually had a middle or high school teacher care about the color of the folder? Or want scissors and glue sticks? I have not bought those since the pta kits in elementary school.
Yes, I actually have Mr./Mrs. Snarkypants. I have one just finishing MS and, yes, all of those were things we had to buy/were considerations for buying
