In second grade (!!) another girl taught my daughter the s-word and f-word and b-word. I was really hoping my 7 year old was going to say the f-word was fart, but sadly she didn’t. I have never forgiven the other girl (an only child) or her parents. What kind of a household are they running over there?

My DD goes to a 2-week sleep away camp that is the highlight of her year. She's usually a PITA for a few days after returning to normal life. I just give her space. I know she's sad that it's over and misses her friends and life in the mountains. One year she told us it's not fair that we make her live in the city when she wants to always live in the mountains. She's gotten better at reentry as time has gone by.

Yes. My kids are polite and well behaved, unlike the majority of the kids we see in schools/camps around here. After witnessing this we decided never again. Thinking of homeschooling Bc so many kids in fcps are out of control.

The kids in summer camps are animals. They are mostly kids whose parents either don’t have time for them or don’t want them around. They usually aren’t well behaved to begin with. Throw in some teenage counselors who get paid hourly minimum wage… and this is exactly why we don’t do camps anymore.

Sounds like camp raised them. Why have them if you just send them all away?

I remember this same thing happened to my brother after 1 week at camp. He started being sarcastic and said really annoying things to me, and it tured out that there was a group of boys he learnt it from, and it sounded exciting to him and seemed like the "in" thing do. But it wore off after a couple of weeks.
