I think many of the shorter 2 syllable names would work for what you want:

Mina
Mira
Asha
Rani
Riya
Diya
Isha

Why can't she ask on DCUM as well, just like lots of others do regarding baby names?

I'm sure this isn't the only place she's looking for name advice so you can relax.

Are you Indian? Why aren't you asking your parents and aunties for name suggestions?

(meaning, I LOVE Arya in GoT, it's just way, way, way too popular among south asians and non-south asians)

Meghan (I know two of these, both sets of parents wanted to name their kid Megha, but for obvious reasons added the N on the end to mainstream it)
Isha (pronounced ee-sha)
Ishani
Anya (so many Anyas)
Mira (so many Miras)
Jayna
Sia
Gia/Jiya
Priya (lots of "iya" names)
Sarina/Serena
Raina/Reyna
Asha (my mom said "this is an old lady name" the first time she heard of a baby named Asha, LOL, but it's so easy to pronounce!)
Tara (but be prepared that no one will pronounce it the right way, it will be tah-rah or terra)

And then I've heard a lot of "well, this maybe sounds vaguely Indian" names like Lily, Sara, Samantha, Natasha, Gina, etc.

Forgot to mention another one that's super popular but I don't care for because of GoT is Arya.

This is a joke, right?

I'm with OP, the names listed are older Indian names that people took off a list or the names of their 40+ year old Indian friends and colleagues. I just listed a bunch for you, OP.
