I know a little Minerva and she's adorable. Has gone by Minnie & Min-Min but has something really remarkable to grow into if she wants it.

She sounds like she'll be cooking up a witch's brew! Or yes, birth control. I think unfortunately there is too much pop culture around it, but agree you could do Minnie if you really wanted it.

It is also, IMO, not a name that works on a little girl. Minerva already has wrinkles and a streak of grey to me.

To the OP - the uneducated will think of a Greek goddess (that's Athena) or a pharmaceutical. The bottom line for all names is: if YOU like it, use it. Just be mindful of how it will affect your CHILD'S life, because it will. Crowdsourcing isn't going to get you answers, because some people think that being called Minnie mouse is the most horrific thing, and others will think it's cute.

I don’t like it.

In my language it sounds almost exactly like the phonetic pronounciation of “it angers me” I would hate that association for a new baby.

I also don’t like the nn Minnie.
