Here's brand new fully-loaded 2021 Chevy Bolts for $32-33k:
https://www.koonschevybuickgmc.com/new-inventory/index.htm?search=&model=Bolt+EV&year=2021&gvBodyStyle=Wagon

Then there's both federal and MD tax credits for buying an EV, and MD/Pepco credits to install an EV charger.

Civics are $25k, but you'll be paying gas, oil changes, spark plugs, etc. Lots of moving parts. Also no visits to the gas station ever.

We own a 2014 electric car and it's been in for service once, to rotate the tires. No other service needed.

wow, they really can't sell those things. 10k off the top for a new car now seems absurd

They actually sell a lot. Chevy just does it in volume at low margins. Up till this year with chip shortage delay Chevy is most sold nameplate in US for many years.

A new Chevy bolt is ~26k, it’s a great commuter car. Very quiet and responsive.

Don’t they start around $40k?

To get an EV state rebate etc. does the car have to be new? Does it apply to used vehicles from a dealership?
