Yes we also taped up black garbage bags in the windows. It also helps at bedtime, which during the summer happens when it's very light out still.

We always went back to the house for naps. I'd give the baby a quick water rinse in the shower outside, diaper her again, then have lunch or whatever else and put her down. It gets HOT at the beach sometimes and I didn't want to force my babies to sleep down there. Plus they were early risers, and generally I was exhausted by naptime and would also lay down for a bit.

I know it works well for some people to just kinda put the baby on a blanket and they go to sleep but this is NOT how it worked for my kids.

Eh…for our family it would be. Around the baby’s sleeping schedule anyway. We can usually get away with doing one nap “on the road” if they get another good quality nap during the day. This always sounds like “duh” advice until you have an exhausted screaming baby and can’t do or go anywhere anyway.

No walk in closets unfortunately! Good tip on the sand… I’ll pick up a spray bottle before we go. Oh boy- sounds like it’ll be a relaxing week for us! 😂

One more thought depending on where you are staying-are there walk in closets? We put the pack and play in the walk in closet, which gets very dark, and he napped just like at home!

FYI, my 9m old definitely ate sand. Best tip besides a container for the baby if you want to sit on the beach was a spray bottle (or two!) full of water for spritzing off sand.

Thanks everyone! And yes I get this won’t be the typical beach vacation like we’re used to, but tending to baby with an ocean view is definitely preferable to home! I bought some of the suction cup shades on Amazon.

We do not have black out curtains at home so they are not necessary for traveling either. Stroller naps seems best on vacation.
