They will, it will be called VA Union.
How many SYC players are on the VA Union teams? This is 2009-2004 age groups.
No response? It's okay, I can update you. There are fewer than 10 total girls that are going from SYC to VA Union. Did you hear that? Fewer than 10. SYC hasn't prepared its girls to play competitively, and the merger wasn't for them. It was for the boys, but they were not expecting to get MLS Next. There will not be any difference in the future.
In large part, because only 09's hadn't already been picked apart. While many of the 08's stayed, several left for other ECNL teams in their first year of opportunity. A more fair way to ask this question is how many former SYC 07/08/09 girls are at ECNL teams (teams that had at least some time under current leadership), not limiting it to just Union. Union is a new construct and most girls with the skill to play didn't wait around because there wasn't an option. The point of Union is to get them to choose that option, not spread to VDA/BRYC/Mclean like prior years. Without the partnership, Arlington getting ECNL girls creates yet another close alternative that would have been a draw.
Literally less than a starting 11 were selected for Union. SYC doesn't take the time to develop girls nor give them the same resources as boys.

Any ECNL caliber SYC player older than U13 left years ago for clubs like VDA, Arlington, McLean etc. There are not many U15 CCL players moving to ECNL from any club. Look at the older groups of Loudoun ECNL to see what happens when depleted CCL teams get thrown into ECNL.
The proof will be what 08, 09 and 10's from SYC make ECNL not how many older CCL players who never bother trying out or didn't make ECNL teams before still don't make a Union team now.

Huh?

I don't know how many but SYC arranged for a pathway, the rest is up to your kid whether or not a SYC coach posts about her team here or not.

2021 Bethesda (includes multiples; this is also boys and girls): Frosterburg State, University of Dayton, Mount St. Mary's, Mount Olive, COlumbia, University of Delaware, American University, Central Connecticut State, Mount Union, Georgetown, Princeton, Yale, Johns Hopkins, Bridgewater, Washington University in St. Louis, Boston University, Harvard, Howard, Penn State Harrisburg
2021 SYC (includes multiples, this is only boys as there are no girls college-bound from SYC): Howard, Radford, Longwood, Montclair State, Westminster College
Enough said.
