I'm a nanny who has been with my family going on 6 years. Absolutely. We text pics, fun events going on around town, funny memes, etc. I've been to most of their birthday parties, some sports' events, a couple Thanksgiving dinner, etc. I don't take offense at all.

We share tales of what we did over the weekend when nanny comes back to work. Kids are old enough to tell her themselves which I think is healthier for them.

I try to avoid sending emails or texts about things over the weekend so our nanny can take a break and really have time off. We have seen each other *all the time* while we’ve been working from home and we are both introverts, so I think that’s enough.

If there is an emergency (like child might be sick or a potential change in schedule I want her to have as much notice of as possible) I will contact her.

Only if we have been away for a long weekend or vacation to touch base and say all set for tomorrow / Monday. If I text her after her work hours she refuses to answer or engage which I find extremely annoying a I only do it seldom and for good reason on time-sensitive things.
