The outfit description is exactly what Elizabeth warren would wear.

On a business trip, if I’m going straight to the office, black stretchy pants, a nice tee or stretchy top, and a stretchy blazer. Key word stretch so it’s comfortable and doesn’t get wrinkled. For a personal trip, pretty much the same except a sweater or hoodie instead of the blazer. Sometimes stretchy jeans instead of black pants.

For long flights--comfy pants (could be leggings, yoga, or palazzo--just depends), LONG first-layer shirt/tank/cami that will stay tucked in, one or more additional layers, outer jacket with at least one zip pocket for passport & ticket.
If I am traveling with a puffy jacket, I wear it on for use as a blanket/pillow.

Sneakers or leather lace-up shoes (Trippen).

I once had a male colleague ask what he should wear on his first business flight with a very senior staffer (and known snappy dresser). I struggled to come up with the male equivalent of black stretchy pants.

For shorter flights--whatever, but it has to be warm enough!

Why on earth would you want to change on a plane?

Even if you fly first class and have access to a larger bathroom, you still need to be barefoot when changing (or else put your socks on the dirty floor).

Who are you trying to impress on the front end by dressing up before changing?

I don't get it. If I'm flying for business and going into a meeting, I'm in a suit. If I'm on vacation, I dress for comfort. Black makes everything look dressier--even comfy stuff.

+1 I had exactly the same reaction, ha!

Always casual. The particulars vary but I make sure to wear socks with shoes that can slip on and off easily.

Leggings, tee shirt, pullover, sneakers

I always wear sneakers on the plane. In case of an emergency landing where you have to get off quickly & go down the slide.

Guy - button down shirt, jeans, slip on sneakers.

Yoga pants
Running shoes so I don't have to pack them
Layers of shirts (tank + long sleeved usually)
Duster cardigan
Cashmere blanket scarf for when I get cold

I always bring a long sleeved linen item (cardi, hoodie, something) to protect against A/C which I find very cold. Tee, leggings/yoga pants. Slip on shoes to clear security easily (ballet flats or boat shoes). Tote bag for waters, snacks, devices.
