Why would the age of the babysitter make any difference in the pay rate? I could see paying more for more years of experience, but why pay more just for somone who is older? That seems unfair.

My 19-year-old is making $12/hour in the parts department at our local Acura dealership, talking to angry customers all day about why the semiconductor shortage is affecting how long their car repairs will take.
