It's less than I thought had transferred and less than I thought would return.

I think we'll have another 15 to 20% re-enroll before the summer is over.

We don’t have to while school isn’t in session.

good Q.

Because right now, there is a state EO saying so. It expires in a couple weeks. They say they will revisit when there is new guidance.

It’s does seem clear from the presentation that unvaxxed — adults down to PK must mask. I doubt that changes unless CDC updates guidance.

Some kids have a hard time masking when adults aren’t. My preschooler was great about masks until her teachers stopped caring.

Right now Fairfax has a negative case rate for the past week. Moderate only seems "low" because the pandemic was so widespread and had such high numbers. Remember, Australia has closed entire cities for just a handful of cases. Their perception of moderate is better than ours.

No way will there be any high school concurrent. Its going to be bare bones offerings or classes thru the online campus.

What about all the missing severely disabled kids? They aren't in private or parochial schools. I guess they were "homeschooled"?

The professional development is always Gatehouse created to fit whatever their new priority for the year is (because we apparently can’t focus on the same thing for more than a year or two) and has never once been helpful to my curriculum area. The teacher workdays are helpful for grading and unit planning w my colleagues, but I would much rather have students on ALL of the professional development days than listen to hastily prepared Gatehouse presentations. This is a waste of time and just leads to more childcare needs for parents.

Another teacher here. Completely agree. Again, more people making decisions for educators who are so far removed from the classroom.

DW and I plus another teacher friend were just talking about this tonight.

Parent here - if you all end up collective bargaining can you get them to stop hiring so many central office and administration types? The bureaucratic bloat is out of hand. People will never vote in the politicians who would make them.

We plan to re-enroll but haven’t done so yet. I wouldn’t have even thought to do so this early.

Yeah but how many have decided to leave FCPS for the 2021-22 school year? I bet they don’t have those numbers yet. I’m ditching FCPS after this year for private.
