If they only want summer try

Parks and Rec departments: cashiers, trail maintenance, etc.

Pools and Country Clubs: cashiers, lifeguarding, caddying

Camps: lifeguards, counselors

Go into Indeed and use "summer" as your key word.

It's true that a lot of volunteer programs are curtailed due to COVID, but there is still stuff out there. Our local Meals on Wheels uses volunteers to bake desserts. By the time you bake for 50 people, package it, and deliver it to the site, it's a few hours a pop.

Some local nursing homes are taking Zoom volunteers.

When back-to-school supply drives are happening, you could have your child do a mini-drive: Solicit donations from friends and family and really knock out a LOT of someone else's needs.

This all counts!

This is how my 16 yr old found his job. Plus there are signs everywhere. Go in and fill out the application there. Target is hiring at $15/hr.

Volunteer herself to go do porch visits with lonely seniors, go pick up trash in the park, offer free tutoring to kids behind from the pandemic, etc. Not everything needs to be formal. There are people in need all around.

Wrong. For insurance purposes they need to be registered Girl Scout. There may also be a supply fee associated with the camp. Also day camps start next week and they have missed the teen trainings.

What about your neighborhood listserv? Try checking there. I read emails everyday from neighbors looking for teens to help out with kids over the summer. A lot of parents really need the extra help.

Part of the reason for it, is that summer volunteer opportunities are often filled by spring. It's a bit late to be looking (but I'm sure there are still opportunities out there).

She started in February, so she didn’t miss it.

Agree to try waitressing, or an amusement park if you live close enough.
