This combines 6/7/8 grade math into one year. We know it is a challenging curriculum for next year, but our DC has been tutored all year, and should be able to handle it. And math is her thing.

Most kids who were placed in pre algebra didn’t have tutors, but I’m sure she’ll be fine.

He was identified gifted in math / top cogat. Always 600 or close in SOL. And high MIs.
Final MI was lower than start of the year.
He has straight As and did well on unit tests. What happened?

If math is her thing...why the need to tutor all year?

Is your kid scoring above grade level? If they are, there is a point they won’t grow if they haven’t been taught the math concepts yet. It’s possible that they actually performed the same but because it’s a few months later their scaled score is lower because it compares students to same age/grade peers at the same points in the year. As long as your child is meeting the grade level range (or ideally exceeding), that’s good.
Oh, thank you! This is the PP - that’s really good feedback. Yes, she’s above grade and was doing more advanced work but I know they didn’t get as far through the curriculum as they do in most years. I didn’t realize the inventories are scaled like that. Thanks again - definitely helpful and makes me feel better.
