I knew her as a kid. I think she was a bit of a mess, but no more so than a lot of people were. Eating and binge drinking disorders were sort of par for the course in her circle in the 90s.

I never got the enormous appeal of brenee brown, probably because she reminds me of many other ph.d.'s in the psychology field and personally she always struck me as thin skinned, defensive and insecure. She seems to have softened but star quality and the enormous national stage she commands? Baffled. I think personally she probably struggles with it too...I have known other clinicians and faculty/researchers who are so wise, warm and charismatic. Life is funny, these things don't always square.

I have nothing against female bloggers. I just find the oversharing style, crisis-drama-revelation spin cycle a bit dated and not informative or uplifting or creative. Great that she does charity work, but it doesn't make her writing or personal brand any more interesting, IMHO.

Perhaps you’re at a place in your life where you don’t need to hear the kind of things Glennon addresses . However, hundreds of thousands if not more women have gained and understanding of themselves from her work. Can’t hate her for that. She may not be your style But clearly she appeals to many.

I have young kids and am definitely in her demographic, but I don't find anything she says or writes surprising or revelatory. I don't think it's about place in my life, just my taste. She reminds me of Dooce -- same trainwreck "look at me" category.

I'm glad she's helped some women, but I don't find her inspirational, just cringe-y.

I've heard the name, but have no idea who she is. I guess because I'm a divorced/single mom, doing all the sh*t by myself. UMC though.

Add to that her affair with Abby and married her ASAP.
She didn't spend time healing after the marriage and I just don't think it was good for the kids. If it lasts I'll be surprised.

She addressed this on her recent podcast. She had mourned that marriage way before she met Abby.

There are elements of what she says I really relate to. I can only stomach her in small doses. But her carpe diem blog post that was her first post to go viral really hit me at a weak moment when my kids were babies. I’ve had a soft spot for her since. And her post during the beginning of the pandemic about screen time was hilarious. I’m not someone that reads chick lit so it’s a surprising to me that I do like her. I’m sure she’s a train wreck in real life.

No way in hell she wasn't on this site while raising kids in Centreville.

Her sister is local in Falls Church. Another DCUM?

We dissected her in the beginning of the pandemic last year. Enjoy!
