Assuming McAuliffe wins the D nomination, we'll have a somewhat bonafide race going into November. McAuliffe certainly has an advantage, but he by no means has a guaranteed victory.

I'm a center-right Independent (I left the GOP in 2006). I've voted for both Ds and Rs since then. I voted for Biden last year, but that doesn't automatically mean I'm voting for McAuliffe this year.
