What? I have a mini golden doodle and she is the smartest puppy I’ve ever seen. She learned her commands by the second week home!
Smart =/= biddable (not always, at least). Actually, sometimes the most biddable dogs are the dumbest ones—it’s easier to train a dog that follows commands vs thinks for itself.
Goldens are very biddable. They’ve been bred for generations to not rock the boat.

Oh my gosh, no—you have to shave it every 6-8 weeks plus frequent brushing at home, or the whole coat is a matted mess.

I don't care what sort of dog we have or what it looks like, as long as it's low / no shed and low allergy.

Haircut every six weeks. They don’t shed so they need haircuts.
But with grooming we are just talking brushing their hair right? Not regular visits to get it cut?
No. They need hair cuts, especially in spring/summer.
