No, no one can run as a Dem, or as a member of any other political party. School board seats as ostensibly non-partisan, so candidates are not allowed to runs as Democrats, Republicans, etc. That is why ACDC does this stupid caucus thing, because they legally cannot have a primary for school board seats, they can only endorse a candidate of their choosing (which they choose through the caucus).

I've lived in Arlington since 2006, and the only time I can remember someone other than the Democrat or Dem-endorsed candidate winning a school or county board seat was John Vihstadt in the 2014 county board special and then general election. His election was largely a revolt against the Columbia Pike streetcar project, which was still an in the active planning stages at the time of the election and had significant citizen opposition. He got knocked out by the 2018 blue wave, though, because there was record turnout and many people just blindly voted the Dem ballot.

Probably technically, but that person wouldn't be on the sample ballot or other election materials put out by ACDC. No SB candidate's political affiliation appears beside their name on the actual ballot. So not sure what the benefit would be. Last year, Symone ran as a well-known Dem who had to run as an independent because of Hatch Act issues related to her job in the federal government. Her political affiliation in real life wasn't enough to overcome ACDC's endorsement.

The Arlington Dems are terrible for our county. Lifelong Democrat here and ever since moving here I’ve never voted for a Dem in local races - yes that means I’ve voted for crazy Audrey at least once. Not that it matters - they control everything

If you wanted Miranda to win, shoulda got more of your people (and Republicans) to vote. Sour grapes otherwise.

He is on Arl Dems steering and worked on Mary Kadera's campaign, including being an observer during the ballot count. He is a total partisan hack.
