Don’t feel bad, I haven’t found a show I liked since Seinfeld ended

I like cat & mouse chase -type series, strategy, ironic alliances, plot twists - Ozark, BB, Ray Donavan, Black Sails, the Wire, Narcos, GOT, Fargo, and the like.

Even better is when it's ironic that you, in theory, should hate the antagonist, but end up pulling for him.

FWIW - I don't understand the huge popularity like Handsmaid Tale, Outlander, Real Housewives of XYZ, This Is Us, and such . So lame and Handsmaid Tale is just disgusting (at least with GOT doesn't center around the sex and nudity).

+1. Another woman who loved it. Have probably rewatched a billion times since COVID started. That and a few others are my standbys on rotation for when I just want something kinda on in background without having to pay too much attention. It’s just a really well-made show and effing hilarious much of the time too. I guess it depends on your humor and taste though.

+2 from another woman who absolutely loved Breaking Bad. The character development! The narrative arc! So, so good. It's worth watching just to see Giancarlo Esposito in all his glory, but the entire cast is terrific.

My husband is watching it right now, and while it draws me in, I hate it because it just makes me feel horrible.

OTOH I looooooved the wire. Liked Game of Thrones but felt it was pretty uneven, same with walking dead.

I didn’t like it. Too stressful.

I think it was a very good show from a technical/artistic/story perspective. I did watch the whole thing and by the end of it I was very engrossed, but I never found it enjoyable to watch. I think it was the extreme violence/drugs. And the human suffering, lots of human suffering in that show, in many different forms.

I watched it only one episode at a time, that helped me get through it without getting bogged down in the darkness.

I didn't bother to watch. Not interested in a program about meth. Don't care for zombie shows either.

I liked it, but it definitely had some flaws:

It’s very masculine. I know they try to have a good roles for Marie and for Skyler, but in general they are just nagging shrews. Most of the action takes place in an all male world.

It’s pretty violent.

But in general, I like how it had some surprises. Also it’s a topic that I’m not sick of, although now I might be.

No, you are not the only one. Even just glancing at it while dh and kids watched it is unbearable. They try to get me to watch it, I have never seen such stupidity and such unwatchable ridiculous premise show. Similar to Dexter.
Who watched those shows? That is how unrelatable these are to me.

This was me but my DH kept watching through the end since everyone kept saying how great it was. He didn’t like it either and he loved The Sopranos, Game of Thrones, Deadwood, Ray Donovan etc.

Yes, me too. Hated Breaking Bad, and hated The Wire. Shows for men.

Funny, I’m the woman PP who liked BB and The Wire is right up there with my favorites. Didn’t like GOT though—gratuitous sex and violence.
