fortunately the championship posting has been removed from social media. That player may not be tall but is old enough to know better and if his parent knew about it in advance he may want to reconsider his own coaching HS credentials starting with tonight's home game.Anonymous wrote:Totally agree. I am not an insider to these teams, but have heard the following from reliable sources:
(1) the regular Cav's goalie was injured;
(2) they suited up a ninth grade goalie (2024);
(3) Cav's beat MadLax in the semi's and the next day beat NextLevel in the finals, using the ninth grade goalie both days;
(4) an opposing parent recognized the goalie and turned him in (not sure if it came from ML or NL)
(5) Once HoCo confirmed the ninth grade goalie, they DQ's Cav's and allowed MadLax and NextLevel to play a week later for the championship. I don't know who won.
Takeaways:
Kudo's to HoCo for allowing the championship to be re-played. That was probably not an easy thing logistically but they did the right thing.
Pretty unbelievable that Cav's could be so unethical, and so foolish; did they really think that nobody would notice?
The championship is still on social media?? Unfortunately I have no sense of humor when it comes to cheating in kids sports, but if I did, I would find that absolutely hilarious!

And he did play very well against the 6th graders. So... congrats?
correct that was a few years ago. both teams have developmental players and good athletes so give them a break at least they are playing at correct grade levelAnonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:it seems likely that older 2024 cavs player stepped in to help here rather than having on age rostered player step in goal. madlax dmv was different is that they rostered combined 25/26 team but fielded team in hoco 26 division (rather than 25B divison) playing entire season before forfeiting after beating blc in playoffs for playing 6th graders (who weren't marginal if anyone is asking) in 5th grade division.Anonymous wrote:Since I have no dog in the fight I find this hilarious. This ML 2026/2025 cheating happened in 2019, right?
This year ML DMV 2025 was so awful that I'm not sure it would have helped the (equally awful) ML DMV 2026 team to combine teams...![]()
