+1. And I love Susie as a nickname.

Sally and Penny are nicknames.

I know kids named: Nancy, Jessica, Mary, Alice, Ellen and Susana/Susy. Name your kid what you want! I never thought anything but “wow, that’s unusual for a kid these days” but that’s it. They’re all perfectly good names, they just don’t happen to be trendy right now.

My name is Sally and it is not a nickname.

No one is saying it wasn’t a name before the 1950s!

I think Susan aounds nice and Susie as a nickname sounds really fresh and pretty. You will be like someone who chose Emma in 1995-ahead of the curve.

Maybe a different variation or something similar like Suzanne, Suzana. I like the nick name Sukie.

I think that’s why it fits the great-grandmother rule for parents selecting baby names mid-century. My mom was a late war baby and HER great-grandmother was born in the 1820s.

Anyone else? These names are going to make a comeback soon.

Out of this list, I only like Susan, Mary and Julie.
