My first could point to all the parts of the vacuum at 17 months (wasn't speaking yet). It was probably 10 different parts- wheels, base, handle, cord, filter, switch etc. Then around 20 months he learned to say each letter of the alphabet just before he started saying actual words. He's 5 now and all his preschool teachers have commented that his memory is beyond what's typical.

Nothing special comes to mind for my second.

Wow, impressive! I can only imagine his gymnastic exploits in a few years. You should post an update thread.

My DD was like a standup comic. I loved it. Unfortunately, now that she's a teenager, my life has become a celebrity roast.

My 14 month old daughter has over 150 words and speaks in two word phrases.

My 2.5 year old boy can hear a song one time and will remember and sing the entire lyrics the next day.

Anonymous wrote:My 10M old climbs the stairs. I put her on some stairs at a playground recently and she sort of froze, didnt go up or down. Then a few days ago she was crawling around the house with me behind her. She confidently crawled over to the stairs and started climbing, lifting each hind leg up to the next riser and hoisting. She went about halfway up the flight before she got tired. She has no sense of what is behind her or how precarious her position; we have ordered gates!!

Our 9M old climbs the stairs. He’s fearless when it comes to anything physical and absolutely the most cautious kid of all time socially.

That's really cool. I wonder if she'll maintain an interest in art over time.

I found my baby cousin on top of the fridge at my grandma's once when he was like 18 months old. He climbed the cabinets. He's now a competitive rock climber.

DS has been taking showers since he was 20 months old. He goes under the big shower head and gets wet; he steps toward us to get soaped up and the rinses under the water himself.

A wide range of curse words and used them within context. I am impressed and mortified.
