This is a little frustrating to me. My son was on the red team, but we aren't interested in MLS Next. We don't like the substiution rules, and the additional travel does not sound appealing. We also can't do the fourth day of practice without giving up his other sport. Unfortunately, it seems like his only option is to play with a less competitive team of players (the new red team, which I imagine will be largely the current white team). I guess it is what it is, but this isn't a good change for us personally.

Yes, it seems that MLSNext makes the decision point regarding playing multiple sports come earlier. Back in the day, you could play basketball, baseball and one other sport throughout the year up through high school. This does not happen anymore and it seems the specialization decision gets earlier and earlier.
The 'not interested in mlsnext' is what is said to save face when the kid doesn't make the team.

I'm sure the white team parents will welcome you with open arms with that kind of shitty attitude. Plenty of white team are at a higher level than some red but politics abound.

No. What club do you represent? The one with uge turnouts?
So you don’t actually know what you’re talking about. Thanks. Can anyone shed some actual light instead of being a knucklehead?

Not like SYC, zero information on MLS Next except for tryout dates on their website.
Wish they’d be more specific about price. They seem to dance around that topic but not state specifically. Is it going to be $3k for this before travel and tournaments? Also, how many of the games are going to be in NJ/PA next year?
Alexandria does not charge additional for tournaments and does not estimate travel costs. Less than 3000 means it will vary by age group. If you have the offer, you know, and if you don’t, you will find out when you get it. You can get an idea about the schedule by looking at this year’s mls next schedule for the mid Atlantic. It will obviously vary by age and could change depending on how they actually set the schedule this summer. I would assume one third of matches would be north of Baltimore.
The statement that Alexandria does not charge for additional tournaments is false. If your team is doing something beyond the allotted tournaments, you will pay more. I do find it silly that you only get the price after they give you an offer. Does this mean different kids pay different prices? The lack of transparency is concerning.
