You can’t beat double Wolf wall ovens if you’re a serious cook. They’re simply the best on the market.

PP and should’ve added unless you’re 55+ do not do double wall ovens. Ugh I hate them and refuse to buy a house with them, and all my friends (early 30s) agree. If you’re cooking for a crowd you should be using a variety of methods (smoker, sous vide), and who the heck wants to clean TWO ovens?!

Your comment is odd. And ageist. Why “should” you be using a variety of methods for a crowd?

Having multiple ovens (I have one wall and two in my range and a dedicated broiler) means I can cook a joint of meat and bake a cake or more at the same time. Or multiple sheets of cookies.

We bought a much older home and when we updated the kitchen I purposely kept the double oven configuration and just replaced the ovens - they are smaller though than the typical single oven in a range and only a few manufacturers still made that size.

Now, I am not up on kitchen design at all but I do cook most days (family of 4) and I'm amazed double ovens are no longer popular (don't many new fancy big kitchens have multiple ovens?). I frequently use them simultaneously PLUS sometimes a countertop toaster oven (Wolf, very handy for smaller dishes, roasting veggies, etc - use this several times a day - agree, it's great!). The double ovens are fantastic.

I used to have a big Viking range in our last place and frankly hauling pots and pans out of it is a pain relative to the waist high ovens - double ovens much easier on the back!

The only minus is I cannot cook a huge turkey in either oven - I'd either have to do two smaller birds or use it as an excuse to not host!

We have a thermidor gas range and Viking double ovens in a kitchen that is just around 20 years old. Both still work fine. I do plan to replace both with a stove/oven combo when we redo it on a few years, and gasp, I am over 50. I think we had thermidor in our last kitchen as well which was same vintage, also had no problems.

Age because they were popular in the early 2000’s and went out of style for a reason. Regular American-sized ovens are incredibly inefficient - far too large for your everyday baking and cooking. Now add TWO of them and stick their ugly butts on a prominent wall in the most used room in the house...that’s a nope for me. If you need two ovens get a normal double freestanding. Or a toaster oven.
