In high school math classes it is common, in both gen ed and honors. SOLs are minimum level competency tests and many teachers teach to the test.

I’m happy when one of my children just passed. My other child has never scored a 600. But many of my students have and I have quite a few every year.

The 350 is NOT the pass rate for this year. It is still 400. They're using the 350 score for high school (and MS math) students ONLY to allow them to get verified credit for their course.

Thanks - the person who told me was a MS math teacher. But does it even matter if you “pass” the others - except for the ones where they lowered it to 350?

I checked my kids SIS account and it does not list his SOL score. He is in third, so this is his first year taking the tests, any idea when we should expect to see the score?

We usually get them with end of year report cards.

They do show up on SIS but not til later in the summer IIRC.

It’s pretty common. It’s not a hard assessment really.

That might be true of some tests, but not all. Middle school reading SOLs still require a 400 to pass.

Yep, they are common. My DC was in AAP at center and had kids in his class fail the SOL.
