I am not sure how that's going to help, though. Every single Republican governor has happily used NoVA like an ATM for the rest of the state. Democrats in VA aren't much better but at least they know where their bread is buttered. I'm not convinced any Republican on the ballot cares even a tiny bit about academics in FCPS. Now, if they started talking about adjusting the LCI in NoVA's favor, I'd be all over it.
Many of us have worked very hard pestering Washington Post and other writers to get the VMPI proposal some publicity and make the candidates address it. Unless and until a democrat comes out firmly AGAINST the VMPI I will hold my nose and vote for republicans this election, especially locally. At least they are taking a firm stand on this. As a parent of a 1st and 3rd grader it is my most important issue right now.
I would hold my nose and vote Republican too in local and state election. Democrats are doing a great deal of damage to education.
Are there local R candidates who talk about real issues without bringing up Trump and his "stolen" election?
All of them.
The VA candidates are focused on education.

Nnat measures general ability, not specific topics.
It doesn't require reading or math skills.
It has things like patterns, shapes, etc
101 is average intelligence and nothing to be concerned about.
Exactly. Even my non readers and Esol students can take the test. It is not content based and reading is not required so "a lost year of in-person learning" would have little impact. It is mostly patterns.

Terry supports the VMPI.
His 1st priority in his education plan is equity.
He lists state "integration" through zoning changes as his preferred method of achieving equity.
