I totally am. I have no idea why. I'm not envious or wanting that life, but I do find it so interesting. My pop culture interests skew this way too. I'm fascinated by British Royalty, old money families, boarding/prep school life. I also dig Wharton's books and the like too. It's just so foreign to how I grew up that I find it interesting.

Do people like that keep social media pages? I’m surprised. I thought that was only for the strivers...if I was from a rich high society family, I would think I would be very low key.

When DCUM area people get smug and judgy, it makes me snicker, not going to lie.

They want to be Marina Rust.

I know the Lauders. They are good people, socially.

Such a great description! That’s how I view Lauren Santo Domingo as well. They seem so laidback and effortless but clearly care so much and put in so much effort to keep up appearances and their social standing. It is fascinating and seems exhausting.

Maybe Edith Wharton’s high society—Undine Spragg or Isabel Archer.

The men they pursued, really -- men with Dutch last names. Yes, I am sort of interested in them, in a rubbernecking/sociological sort of way. But "fascinated"? Nah, they're not fascinating.

Well, I was a few years behind Marina in school so I can tell you she’s in her early 50s. Aerin is as well.

No. I would say a vast majority of them are so out of touch with reality it’s sad.
